Bang, 30miles, 2, Neutral and Emergency brake...

Yey it's a Sunday! Church day hey. I meet up with Emily at BCM, actually, I late somewhat, and went to Mt.Pleasant together. On the way to the church, Emily's car suddenly made a funny noise, "Bang, bang."
WHAT?! Hit something?????
We didn't sure, but something wrong with the vehicle, that was sure.
When Emily putsher foot on the gas pedal and over the meter of 35mile or something, it slow down! and when she uses its brake, the funny noise come out with some vibration...so we keep 35miles and reached the church.
Yey, we are here!!
さぁ、日曜日ですよぉ。今週もマウントプレザントへ☆エミリーにBCMで会うことになってたんだけど、ちょっと遅刻しちゃいました。。。まぁ、無事に拾ってもらって、教会に向かう途中でのこと。。。いきまり、エミリーの車から変な音が！！「バン!バン！」って！！
なにぃ？！ってなるやん。。。なんかひいた？！ってなるよね。。。
何が起こったかはわからなかったけど、確かなことは、、、車に何か変なことが起こってるってことのみｗｗエミリーがアクセル踏んで３５マイルをこえるか、ブレーキを踏むと、バキバキ！っていうん。。。振動と共に。だから、３５マイルをキープしつつマウントプレザントへ。。。
何とかつきました！

After the service, Andrew, Jeremy and some others tried to find what's wrong with the car.
Then the brake, the front brake had broken!
礼拝の後で、アンドリューとジャーミーとか何人かで何がおかしいのか探してたら、、、前輪のブレーキが壊れてましたｗｗｗ



Andrew and Jeremy, Andrew had dirty sticky hands with dirty oil, so he asked Jeremy to help to answer the phone lol

At last, Emily had two options, leave the vehicle or drive it to the campus with super dangerous condition. She choose the second option. Andrew tried to drive to check it works or not, or how we can drive in safe. His advice was, drive within 30 miles with gear 2, use an emergency brake with Neutral...and no jumping otherwise, the car ignite with the attrition!! OH NO! Pray for safe!! Jeremy escort Emily's car and we could get back to the campus in safe, there were some bumps but no fire thing lol Thank God.
結局、エミリーに二択が与えられ、一個はチャーチの駐車場に車を置いていくこと。もう一個は、すごく注意して大学まで帰ること。で、彼女は後者を選びました☆アンドリューが車に乗ってみて、動くかどうかのチェックｗあと、どうやったら安全に運転できるかをチェックｗアンドリューからのアドバイスは・・・ギア２でかつ３０マイル以下をキープして走行すること。そして、前方ブレーキがだめだから、１００％緊急ブレーキに頼って、ブレーキはニュートラルに入れて緊急ブレーキを引くことｗｗｗさもなくば・・・・摩擦のせいで発火しちゃうよ！だってｗｗｗいつもになくアンドリューが真剣な顔で言ってました。。。待てよｗｗｗ安全を祈りつつ・・・・ジャーミーのエスコートで、キャンパスに無事に戻ることができましたが・・・途中多少のバン！がありました。。。でも火達磨にはなっていないので。。。よかったよかった。。。

Takako, Masashi, Miyuki and I went to a buffet with Toru.
We had a lot including, steaks, veges, fruits, ice cream and more and more:)
It was good, because I could have heap of potatoes!!! I love potatoes!!!
I chew a lot before swallowing, so I am a person who eat very very slow. So I was the last person who left a seat to have a cup of ice-cream. Then, Toru said "We can see how you are good at decorating ice-cream!"
Oh wait!! What can I do??

梅大四人ととおるさんでビュッフェに行ってきました★
めっちゃ食べたよぉ～ステーキにサラダにフルーツにアイス。。。いろいろ。
私はポテトがおなかいっぱい食べられただけで幸せです☆ジャガイモ大好きなジーンだから。
でも、私はでんぷんが糖になるまでかんじゃう子だから、食べるのが遅いわけですョ。だから、アイスを取りに行くのが皆よりもずっと遅かったんです。。。だから、とおるさんに、「ジーンの芸術性が見られるところやね（ワラワラ）」といわれてしまったわけですョ。
おっおっ～どうしようか。。。まぁ、できる限りを尽くした、画伯の作品↓かわいくない？


Now the first floor of our Hall, Rhoads is being renovation. It looks soooo neat and gorgeous, so Toru couldn't help him to enter the room! So we all four went the room to see.
It's an office for Honours programme of ISU, we didn't know, tho.
It was really beautiful room, so we were taking pictures! haha
私たちの住んでいる寮、ローズの一階はいま改装中です。外見、めっちゃゴージャスよぉ、だからかな？とおるさん入らずに入られなかったみたいです☆皆でさまよってみました。
ISUのオナーズプログラムのオフィスになってるみたいです。へぇ。。。。
めちゃくちゃ綺麗だったから皆で写真取りまくってました。

WHEN I FEEL I AM AMERICANIZED.

It has been passed a month since I have arrived in America.
And my everything has been changing day by day.
Gene is getting well Americanized.
アメリカに来て一ヶ月が過ぎたわけですが、
一日一日、自分のすべてが変化しているのがわかるんです。
ジーンがだんだんアメリカ化されてきてます☆

So....here's some....well.... list....list for when I feel I am Americanized.
だから・・・ここら辺で。。。。うんっと、、、リストを、、、リストを、、、
ジーンが自分でアメリカナイズされてるな。て感じる瞬間リストを作ってみたょ☆

1. When I found that MacDonals are...YUCKY!
マックを不味いと感じたとき。
2. When I feel that BK's King sise is not a King sise, we need more!
バーガーキングのフレンチフライをキングサイズで買っても足りないと感じたとき。
3. When I do not pour refilled cup to an empty pet bottle at fast food restaurant.
ファーストフードに空のペットボトルを持っていかなくなったとき。
4. When I do not care me taned under the sun.
日焼けを気にしなくなったとき。
5. When I feel funny myself when I wear a colorful pumps for classes.
学校に行くのにパンプスを履くのに躊躇した瞬間。

So far, I think these are the "moment" when I feel I am Americanized.
今のところはこんなもんかな・・・きっとほかにもｗ

きっとジーンはどんどんアメリカナイズされて、ぶよぶよになって日本に帰ります☆

READING HEAPS!

Jake's class of Multi-cultural American Literature, we have a biiiiiiiiig reading assignment every day. Sometime, we have to read more than a 100. First week, like the end of Aug, we had to read 17 pages introduction for A Different Mirror by Ronald Takaki, about migration history. We were almost died. 17 pages a day?! No way...
ジェイクの異文化アメリカ文学（？）は毎日大量のリーディングの宿題が出されます。たまに、一日で百ページとかあったりします。。。最初の週、来たばかりのときね、八月の終わりくらい。その頃に、一日で１７ページアメリカへの移民の歴史について書かれた本のイントロダクションを読まなければ成らないことがありました。皆死にそうになりながらよんでいたけれど。。。一日に１７ページなんて。。。

These days, however, we have to read more and more like 100 pages. We were reading Namesake, about Indian immigrants life in America. Now, we can read, but still need much time to finish. Like four to six hours...so we were reading everywhere!
最近は、１００ページとか読まなきゃならなくって、先週はインド人の移民についてのネイムセイクっていう本をよんでいました。今となっては、読めないことはないけれど、やっぱりまだまだ時間がかかってしまうｗ四時間とか六時間とかかな。だから、読めそうな場所を見つけるととにかくよんでいます。

A guy who was working at the fast food restaurant came to us and insist he had have been to Japan. He did a wink and left.... haha what? Funny American.

店員さんが近づいてきて、日本に住んでいたんだよぉ～という意味のわからない告白と共にウィンクをして去っていきました。よくわからないなあめ人ｗ


At the library. We are living in there haha. The library closed at 2am, so we usually there around that time. Killing time with reading! But we need some rest sometime, so we were eating some very very AMERICAN candies.
図書館で。今や図書館の住人です☆午前二時の閉館まで閉じこもってます。読まなならんので。
でも、やっぱり息抜きが必要です！アメリカアメリカしたお菓子を食べながらがんばっています。

At a cafe. Sometime we go out with Toru. We meet up at the library and go to have dinner together and go to a cafe to study!
カフェで。院生のトオルさんと一緒にお勉強☆図書館で待ち合わせて、夜ご飯にいって、カフェで一緒にお勉強です。

とおるさんつながりでｗトオルさんの研究室にお邪魔してみましたｗｗｗ
リアルバイオハザードｗさすが微生物研究してる感がありますねぇ。

増殖した何かをフリッジに保存しようとする笑顔のとおるさんｗ
扉にバイオハザードとかありつつ、中は案外小学校の理科室と変わらない感じが（笑）

Anyway, we are studying very hard! yey, but it's so fun everyday!
まぁ、とにかくめっちゃ勉強してます。でも、毎日充実してるよ、すごく！

COLORFUL CLOTHES AND AFRICAN AMERICAN...

Today, I wore thick green dress like I was doing in Japanese university. I wanted to wear black panty hourse, but it ran when I tried to put on, on the morning....I brought just one of it....augh! But I really really wanted to wear the green dress. So I wore yellow colour-tights, instead. Whoo, that's colorful! But not bad, still. When I go to library, after school, as usual to join my friends to do some big reading asignments all together, some African-American boys came to me! "Hey girl hey girl" pointing at me! Oh...please leave me alone:( They like the colorful clothes or what??? I completely ignored them and reached the library in safe. I do not segregate them, I mean I do not hate them, but after I come to the States, my impression for the people has been changing, not the all, I know, but.

NINE ELEVENTH

On the night of 10th, we saw a lot of the Stars and Stripes around the campus.
Not the large one, but small. Bunch of them were sticked on the ground.
十日の夕方になったら、キャンパスに小さな星条旗がいっぱい立てられていました。

大きいのではなくって、ものすごく小さなやつ。数えられないくらいいっぱい地面から生えてたんだよ。

Takako and I were talking and happened to find why there were heap of American frags on the green ground.

たかちゃんと話してたら、いきなり芝生の上の数えられないアメリカの国旗に遭遇。

The day next, was 911!
そうか！次の日は９１１の日だ！
Aha. Gatcha.
そうかそうか。わかったよ。

The day 9.11 was like a Memorial day in Japan. Not so many media broadcasted it, but CNN, like NHK in Japan.
日本でいうところの終戦記念日みたいな感じでした。全部のメディアが報道するわけではなくって、CNNがメインでやっていたかな。ちょうど日本のNHKみたいな感じ。

Yurayura and Takako found some urban legend on 9.11. It was kindda funny and scary!

興味深いけど、ある意味怖いし、また、発見に対する喜びがあったり・・・

１０ドル紙幣の予言。とかはちょっと怖かったかな。たまたまにしてもね。ちょっとググッて見てよ。

BARACK OBAMA WILL BE COMMING TO TERRE HAUTE!

The candidate Barack Obama will be comming our city Terre Haute tomorrow to have some discussion with his supporter. When I left ISU litrary this morning, I grabbed uni's daily free news paper Indiana Statesman. Then on the top page of the paper was talking about the candidates, Obama and McCain. About the older candidate, the title was interesting, it was "Change is coming" haha beside of the big pic of McCain I found smaller pic of Obama. It said "Obama returns to Terre Haute." What???? It means that he will come to here??? OMG! I wanna join! I have no right to vote him, tho, but I love listening to their speeches! No way! No way! I was really really excited. And according to the article, I can join it for free! No way! It's tomorrow!!!! One of my friend and I ran to his Headquarters office to get its free tickets. We were not sure if there were lefts...but it didn't matter at all! We could find the office easily. But unfortunately, no ticket was left. I know....I knew....yes, he is famous... my friend and I was full of disappointment and walk back to the uni to attend one more class....augh. We were almost there!!!! ALMOST!
明日のお昼に、ここテレホートに大統領候補のバラックオバマがやってくるんです！今日の朝図書館を出るときに、なんとなく学生新聞を引っつかんで出てきたんだけど、その表紙はオバマとマッケインについての記事だったのね。マッケインについての記事のほうが大きく出ていて、題名が、「チェンジはやってきているｗ」みたいなかんじだったんね。その横で、小さめに載っているオバマの写真を発見ｗそれによると、、、「オバマがテレホートに帰ってくるｗ」えっ？？？？オバマがくるのか？？？・・・・・すげぇ！！！見たいみたいｗｗｗありえんって！ありえんって！スピーチ聴けるん？！ありえんって！と、勝手に興奮していましたｗ記事によれば、参加には無料のチケットが必要で、それはキャンペーンオフィスで手にはいるとのこと。。。。なので、友達と一緒に事務所に走りましたｗチケットが残っていようと残っていなかろうと、とにかく行ってみたかったのでｗ事務所はすぐに見つかりましたｗでも、やっぱりもうチケットはありませんでした。。。。残念。。。。そうですよね。。。。がっくりと肩を落として、次の授業のために大学に戻っていったジーンとお友達のかなちゃんでした。。。。おしい！

Yesterday was Library Extravaganza.
What Extravaganza is???
My roommate strongly recommended me to go to the library to get free things, like pizza, drink, stapler and so on. So I went there.
We have to listen to librarian are speaking about how we can use library effectively. There were 25 section or something, if we listen to 10 of it, then we can sign up for a lot like thing. Takako and Masashi did it, but sempai and I didn't, coz it's terrible some, so we were sitting and eating pizza heapslol
昨日は、図書館のエクストラバガンザとかいう催しものがありまして。。。。
ってか、エクストラバガンザってなんだよ？（トミー風ｗ）
モーガンが行け！行ってただのものを掻っ攫っておいでｗっていって行くように強く勧められたので、行ってみましたｗ
司書さんたちが、どうやったら図書館をうまく使えるか的な説明をしてくれるんです。全部で２５個くらいそういう場所があって、それぞれ聞いて、１０箇所以上まわると、抽選会に参加する権利をもらえるってわけです。たかちゃんとゆらゆらはがんばっていたけれど、先輩と私はめんどくさいので、座ってピザを食べまくってましたｗ

Don't eat or drink in a library....but we can do it in ISU library! Which is awesome I think!
図書館では飲食をご遠慮ください。。。。ISUの図書館にはそんな言葉関係ありませんｗフリーダムｗｗｗピザ配っちゃってるからねｗ

CALAMARY THAI!

On Wednesday, we all 4 students from Baiko and Toru went to have dinner together.
But before go to dine, we went to a mall to see some stuff, we needed, like cell phone.
It was cloudy weather on that day. When we were shopping at the mall, we heard some noise which came from the roof. It was a noise of rainfall.
この前の水曜日に、梅大四人組とトオルさんで晩御飯を食べに行きました。
でもご飯の前に、携帯だったり、なんだったり、必要なものをモールに探しにいったんですね。
その日は、曇っていて、モールでお買い物中に屋根からすごい音が聞こえてきたんですｗ雨のたたく音！

It was such a heavy and strong rain! Can you see the water splashing in the front?
めちゃくちゃ、土砂降り。。。っていうかまさに、バケツをひっくり返したようなｗ水がブワッ！ってなってるの見える?

こっちなら、見えるかｗブワッ！ってのが。

We went to Thai restaurant to dine, at last.
We had some soup, curry and calamary....but the name for the calamary was sooooo funny!
On menue, we can find "Calamary Thai."
We all laughed a lot! It sounds so funnylol
When Toru order it, he said "Calamary Thai" as his usual very very nice, american-like English pron, then we all laughed again. We couldn't stop laughing about the name!
Because the pronounciation for it in Japanese, it means "want to have a relationship with you." So we all laughed together. Toru, your so funny boy!
最終的には、タイ料理のレストランに入ったんね。
そこで、スープとカレーとカラマリ（烏賊の前菜的なｗ）ものを食べることになったんですが、、、、カラマリのメニュー表記が面白すぎてｗｗｗ
メニューには、「カラマリ・タイ」って書いてあるんですよ。
一斉に笑ってしまって、というか噴出してしまって。日本人にしかわからないこの面白さ？
トオルさんが注文するときに、「カラマリターイ」って、いつものアメリカ人らしい、めっちゃ流暢な英語で注文したんですが、それでまた一斉に吹き出しちゃってｗｗｗ笑いをこらえるなんて、できるはずも無いくらい皆で笑ってました。
発音的に日本語に翻訳しちゃうと、「あなたとやりたいのよねぇ」的な意味になっちゃうジャン？
だからみんなで笑い出してしまったわけですねｗｗトオルさんほんとおもしろいわぁｗ

FINALLY, WE MEET UP IN THE US!

Today, Ruthie and I reunite in ISU, finally!
今日、ついにルーシーとの再会を果たしました！！！

Ruthie, Rachel, Takachan and I went to BK to have lunch and later we went to a mall to shop.
Fitting room. I tried, but it looks like baggie, so I didn't buy it.
ルーシー、レイチェル、たかちゃんと四人でお昼にバーガーキングに行って、その後はモールにおかいものにいったよ。試着してみたけど、バギーぽかったので、やめましたｗ

Oh my goodness! It's gold! 5W1H wear it???? Matukensamba....w
ありえんわｗ金色のスパッツ。。。いつ、だれが、どこで、なんのために、どうやって履くのでしょう・・・マツケンか！！
